Discus
![]() |
One of the more unique species of Cichlid is the Discus, a round-bodied, exsquisitely-coloured fish with the ability to lighten or darken its colourings at will. Like the rest of the South American Cichlids, they enjoy warmer waters and can be bred in captivity. |
Generally perceived as a shy aquarium dweller, the Discus cohabits well with other freshwater fish, though it may be fussy with food. Originally hailing from the Amazon Basin, these striking fish are among the most sought-after Cichlid species. They tend to flourish in tanks with clean water and lots of plant life.
Take a walk through our Showroom to see our Discus and other Cichlids on display, and don't hesitate to ask our friendly staff for advice.
