These elegant, colourful fish are suited to a variety of aquarium set-ups, preferring well-oxygenated water and a gravel or rock floor. They are typically peaceful and easy to look after, taking a wide variety of food. Barbs are usually quite small - many species never grow larger than five centimetres long - and may be endangered by large tankmates. |
